Introducing: Flotar Floating Solutions
Team Profloating proudly presented the FLOTAR platform and its vision for a sustainable energy transition in the Netherlands and the world at the World Horti Center on 22 June . FLOTAR is a 100% Dutch innovation for floating sustainable energy generation and green water applications and offers organizations the opportunity to quickly become sustainable in a profitable way.
Together with the introduction of FLOTAR, we presented our vision on how floating energy extraction can contribute to achieving international climate objectives. Achieving the 2050 climate targets requires a hundred times more solar energy than the current yield. We believe that in order to achieve this goal, we must make greater use of large water areas.
In addition, FLOTAR® creates possibilities for dual business models. For example, a salmon farmer or a grower with a water basin with the floating solar panels suddenly also has the opportunity to generate income as an energy producer. There is a lot of interest from warm countries because the floating FLOTAR® panels limit evaporation and thus protect water sources and reduce algae pressure.
Achieving the climate objectives requires broad support from (inter) national organizations. With FLOTAR® we take a first step, but our ambition extends much further. By making organizations aware of the necessity of the energy transition, we want to be the driving force behind this, both in the Netherlands and globally. We cannot do this alone. That is why we are open to every new application of the FLOTAR® platform that contributes to making our society more sustainable. We are open to your ideas.
Our journey has only just begun, but today (June 28) we are already at the Volvo Ocean Race in The Hague. The VOR organization has asked us to present FLOTAR® to the press and the general public.
