ISO consults on draft standard for petroleum hydrocarbons assessment

The International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) has published a draft standard on 'Soil quality – assessment of impact from soil contaminated with petroleum hydrocarbons' (ISO DIS 11504) for public comment.

The draft standard provides guidance on 'the choice of fractions and individual compounds when carrying out analysis for petroleum hydrocarbons in soils, soil materials and related materials including sediments for the purpose of assessing risks to human health, the environment and other possible receptors'.

Comments should be submitted by 28 February 2011 to bernard.shelley@bsigroup.com.
