Kent Based firm C&M Plant put their new Scarab Mistral to work on the Lee Tunnel Project
Kent based firm C&M Plant have recently taken delivery of a new Scarab Mistral road sweeper. The machine will be spending the first part of its life working on the Lee Tunnel project in South East London. The £635m tunnel will tackle discharges from London’s largest CSO at Abbey Mills Pumping Station in Stratford. The four-mile tunnel will run beneath the London Borough of Newham from Abbey Mills to Beckton. The Scarab Mistral has been built with heavy duty site work in mind and C&M Plant have specified heavy duty suction nozzles to be fitted along with an overhead suction boom as well as a powerful high pressure water system and to ensure the vehicle is compliant on every site it has been fitted with a radar system, LED beacons all-round and CCTV system with cameras placed around the vehicle for complete visibility, the new machine will sit nicely back at the C&M plant alongside their other Scarab Merlin XP purchased in 2010.
Martin Woodgate owner of C&M said “as well as the product being built to our requirements one of the main reasons I chose Scarab over the competition was due to the excellent after-sales support I get from the Scarab Team” after speaking to the sweeper operator on site, he has commented that the machine is outperforming any machine he had previously used and the control system was easy to use and gave great feedback via the large colour display.”
