At the end of March, the “AKIZ” research project was successfully launched in the city of Can Tho in southern Vietnam. Approximately 60 Vietnamese and German participants took the opportunity to get to know each other better on a personal level and to coordinate the joint work they would be undertaking.
EnviroChemie and the Institute IWAR of the Technische Universität Darmstadt are working on a subproject (TP I4 – 'Resource recovery from wastewater“) in order to develop ways of recycling resources close to the process for the benefit of various industrial segments found at the Tra Noc Industrial Zone near Can Tho. This will help to reduce the burden on the environment and to increase the efficiency of the producers involved. All the participants were able to build up an initial picture of the wastewater situation by actually visiting producers based at the industrial zone and to build important relationships with those in charge.
