The XL2 Sound Level Meter now provides individual under-range indicators for both C- and Z-weighted sound levels. This new feature ensures increased confidence in measurement integrity while maintaining simplicity of measurement.
The XL2 supports high measurement accuracy with under-range indicators. These inform users, during low level measurements, that an alternative microphone with lower noise floor or higher sensitivity should be used. In the past the XL2 indicated when readings were below the linear measurement range for the A-weighted level in accordance with the standard IEC 61672. Now the instrument displays an under-range status also for individual levels with C or Z frequency weighting. Should any sound level be detected as under-range, then the XL2 marks this level with the new symbol “<“, e.g. “LZeq < 23 dB“. With this enhancement XL2 users benefit from another free product extension.
Acoem’s global reputation as a pioneer of AI-powered and connected solutions for noise and vibration monitoring recently received a boost with the introduction of Noise Radar - a system that accurately identifies major road noise contributors and allows authorities to take decisive action to eradicate the source of the problem.
Acoem is bringing the technology to Wellington, New Zealand to share its capabilities with attendees of the Acoustical Society of New Zealand (ASNZ) Acoustics 2022 Conference &...
Acoem will showcase the strength and diversity of its R&D capabilities in air quality monitoring, by delivering five presentations at this year’s CASANZ conference. Led by Engineering, Research and Development Manager, Grant Kassell, our global team of scientists and engineers will be introducing conference goers to the latest Acoem advances in air quality monitoring solutions and technologies designed to optimise multi-parameter measurement in both urban and remote environments.
Recently, for example, support for the System Self-test (CIC) function of the new ½" M2340 Measuring Microphone has been added. This powerful feature is aimed in particular at NoiseScout customers and the operators of unattended noise monitoring stations.
Another innovation in the area of outdoor monitoring, was the integration of the correction values for horizontal sound incidence when using the M4261 Measuring Microphone together with the WP61 Weather Protection kit. This means that in addition to the...
Rapid urbanisation has turned up the volume of noise at places we work, live and play. There is a growing need for businesses, governments and communities to monitor and measure the adverse effects of noise pollution. Acoem (incorporating the brands formerly known as 01dB and Ecotech) is committed to helping control the noise in our environments by being at the forefront of noise and vibration monitoring.
At Acoustics 2021, being held from 21 to 23 Feb 2022, Acoem will showcase how its signature noise and...
Cirrus Research plc is excited to announce the launch of their latest cloud-based noise monitoring system, Quantum Outdoor. Quantum Outdoor is a single solution for remote monitoring of noise 24/7, it uses powerful cloud software to give users control over their environmental noise impacts at their desktops.
Quantum Outdoor can be easily installed around the boundary of your premises or in remote locations, and multiple devices can be synced up to the cloud together. Once installed they will start gathering noise...
