The LowCVP is a partnership of organisations from the automotive and fuel industries, government, academia, environmental NGOs and road user groups that was established in 2003 to accelerate the shift to low carbon vehicles and fuels.
The LowCVP plays a key role in helping the UK Government to deliver on the Powering Future Vehicles Strategy (July 2002). The Strategy's objective is to ensure that the UK takes a leading role in the global shift towards low carbon transport. The LowCVP works closely with the Joint Ministerial Low Carbon Group, overseeing the strategy. Government reports annually on progress in delivering on Powering Future Vehicles.
Satellite was appointed after a two-way pitch because of their sustainable events and marketing experience and specialist knowledge of green and ethical issues. The purpose of the competition will be to engage, educate and drive awareness of low carbon road transport issues and to raise the debate on sustainability within the road transport industry. Satellite will scope out and coordinate the competition, develop the branding and the approach to marketing the initiative.
