DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Roy Martinez has been named the new Water Agency Market Sector director for HDR’s Water business group. He will be headquartered in HDR’s Denver office.
As a market sector director, Martinez will focus on strategic planning and business development. Martinez also will support the development of technical resources by working with business class directors.
Since 2008, Martinez has served in a pair of roles for the American Water Works Association in Denver. Within seven months of being hired by the AWWA to lead and direct its ANSI accredited standards program, Martinez was promoted in 2009 to serve as the agency’s director of engineering and technical services.
Prior to that Martinez worked for the Water Research Foundation for nearly 16 years, most recently as a senior account manager. In this role he planned, developed and executed utility projects and relationships while serving as a liaison and primary point of contact for the foundation’s largest utility members.
Martinez joined WaterRF after spending six years as a senior design engineer with Meurer & Associates in Lakewood, Colo., where he coordinated and managed engineering projects for water and sanitation districts.
Martinez is a graduate of Colorado State University receiving his bachelor of science degree in civil engineering. He is a member of AWWA, American Society of Civil Engineers and American Society of Association Executives.
