May issue of Water Well Journal includes article on electronic logging device mandate

0
The May issue of NGWA`s Water Well JournalĀ® features an article all water well system professionals need to read.
Titled “Electronic Logging Mandate,” it covers a Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration mandate going into effect on December 18, 2017, stating motor carriers must equip their commercial vehicles with electronic logging devices (ELDs).

Tony Verillo, author of the article, states the new law does not change the hours-of-service rule, but will cause some water well system professionals to have to add ELDs to their company vehicles. He explains who is affected, how to get started if ELDs need to be added, and concludes with how to be ready when the mandate hits later this year.

The article also references a webinar recording on the same topic that Verillo presented for NGWA in 2016. Click here to read the article and access the recording.

Verillo owns and operates Vista Transportation Safety Consulting, a private consulting firm dedicated to assisting the trucking and motor coach industries. Previously, he served as an inspector in the Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles for more than 20 years.
