At 09.00 AM CET on the UN World Water Day, 22 March, the Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI) will announce the winner of the 2012 Stockholm Water Prize. Press release, photos and video will be available at http://www.siwi.org/SWP2012
Journalists based in Sweden are welcome to attend the announcement, which will be made at a seminar on water and food security in Stockholm. The seminar, which is organised by a number of Swedish organisations, will feature both water experts and Swedish politicians including the Minister for the Environment. The Stockholm Water Prize Laureate will not be present at the announcement, but is available for interview by request.
About the Stockholm Water Prize
The Stockholm Water Prize is a global award founded in 1991 and presented annually by the Stockholm International Water Institute to an individual, organisation or institution for outstanding water-related achievements. H.M. King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden is the patron of the prize and will present it at a Royal Award Ceremony during the 2012 World Water Week in Stockholm on August 30.
