Waste electrical and electronic equipment recycling specialist SWEEEP Kuusakoski bagged the first ever Recycling Business of the Year Award for its on-going investment and developments in the waste electrical and electronic equipment recycling sector.

The winners of the Awards for Excellence in Recycling and Waste Management 2011 were announced in London these days. This year saw the inaugural Recycling Business of the Year Award, won by MeWa customer SWEEEP Kuusakoski. Using a MeWa Querstromzerspaner QZ 2000 the british company processed 27,000 tonnes of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) in 2010, achieving 94% recovery rates with a small portion of waste going to waste-to-energy production.

The company now recycles much of the domestic WEEE collected in London, as well as reaching along the M4 corridor to Wales, Oxford, North Dorset and Lincolnshire. For this purpose MeWa delivered a turnkey plant solution in 2007 to the British recycling company situated in Kent.

The winning of the Award for Excellence is considered as a sign of the long-term partnership between SWEEEP Kuusakoski and MeWa. We congratulate our partner on receiving this brilliant trophy.
