Minister of Trade and Investment Pia Olsen Dyhr (SF) visited Bramidan to get insight into what the Danish Trade of Council can do for a small company like Bramidan.

Newly appointed Minister of Trade and Investment Pia Olsen Dyhr (SF) visited Bramidan. She wanted to get insight into what the Danish Trade of Council can do for small companies like Bramidan which exports 90 percent of their production.

'We are already doing business in 40 countries around the world, but we still need assistance when we try to win new market shares,' says Henrik Dueholm Madsen, Managing Director. Asia and Latin America are two interesting markets for future years, but in Brazil there are such large tariff barriers and the country has adopted a protectionist policy to protect its own production.

One of the things that Denmark must pay attention to in order to maintain the leading position on the market for waste management, is education, and it will be necessary to have skilled, educated people travelling around the world to help Danish companies enter new markets. 'We must teach our children to think in a worldwide aspect – both with regard to languages as well as cultures, 'said Pia Olsen Dyhr.

Tax reform
One of the things the Minister also wants to do something about is the high taxes on labor. 'It will become a part of a coming tax reform,' she said. 'It should help get costs on labor down.'
