Mission 2030

An International Challenge for the building and waste industry

Mission 2030 is the name given to an ambitious building industry challenge by the newly founded Construction Resource Initiatives Council, based in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. An industry led non-profit and non-partisan organization focused on maximizing natural resources and minimizing waste with a unique integrated approach to education for industry transformation. 

The challenge, inspired by a 'Mulberry' World War II project is aligned with the Architecture 2030 Challenge for Products as follows: Building and product design, construction practices, purchasing policies, operations and maintenance approached to protect and maximize resources, for construction, renovation and demolition waste reduction to landfill with the following targets:   35% by 2015, 50% by 2020, 75% by 2025 and 100% by 2030.
