Rutland County Council has issued a tender worth £19.2m for the disposal and treatment of its refuse.
The contract is split into three separate lots. Lot one is for the treatment of waste, lot two is for the disposal and treatment of recyclable material and lot three is for the disposal and treatment of compostable material.
The council intends to contract with a provider or providers for an initial period of 10 years for lot one and five years each for lots two and three. The council may exercise up to two options to extend each lot, each extension being up to five years in duration, up to a maximum of a further 10 years in total.
According to the tender notice, the contract/contracts will be awarded to the most “economically advantageous tender”.
