National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 400
The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) is accepting public comments until May 10, 2017 for the next edition of its Hazardous Materials Code (NFPA 400). The standard addresses the storage, use, and handling of hazardous materials (other than for private use in one or two family residences). Hazardous materials addressed in the standard include: Flammable solids; Organic peroxide formulations; solids or liquids that are Ammonium nitrates, Corrosive, Oxidizers, Pyrophoric, Toxic, Highly toxic, Unstable (reactive), and/or Water-reactive; and Compressed gases and cryogenic fluids (within the context of NFPA 55, Compressed Gases and Cryogenic Fluids Code, only). Refer to the code for exemptions including certain explosives, refrigerants, corrosives in stationary batteries, etc.
