WESTERVILLE, OH -- Groundwater industry professionals, the world’s experts on this natural resource, have a unique opportunity to educate the public about groundwater and water well stewardship during National Groundwater Awareness Week, March 10-16, 2013.
This year represents the 15th edition of this event sponsored by the National Ground Water Association, said NGWA Public Awareness Director Cliff Treyens.
“Every groundwater professional, company, or organization should seize this opportunity to showcase groundwater as the enormously important resource that it is,” Treyens said. “In the process, those who promote groundwater will have an excellent opportunity to showcase their companies.”
Treyens said there still is time for the groundwater industry to promote groundwater and water well stewardship during National Groundwater Awareness Week, information of which is located at www.NGWA.org/AwarenessWeek. Here you will find sections dealing with:
- Promotional tools for groundwater professionals including a sample letter-to-the-editor and news release, customizable radio spots on the need for water well checkups, a newspaper ad, a flier and poster, one-page consumer information sheets on various water well issues, and three 3-minute educational videos
- Get-involved ideas including a guest editorial, National Groundwater Awareness Week logos, and links to additional resources.
