Hillsboro, Oregon -- The Magellan MX™ is a new weather station line from Columbia Weather Systems offering GPS and compass readings, particularly useful for vehicle and mobile applications requiring real-time met data on the go, such as incident command centers, broadcast, and hazmat vehicles.

Magellan MX weathers stations offer several all-in-one parameter configurations. Depending on the model, meteorological sensors can include ultrasonic wind speed and direction, temperature, relative humidity, barometric pressure, and an optical precipitation gauge. Wind measurements are automatically compensated using the compass and GPS readings.

Data can be monitored with WeatherMaster Software, a touchscreen Weather Display console, and/or the Weather MicroServer for Internet and SCADA protocols. The Weather MicroServer also offers additional sensor ports.

Columbia Weather Systems’ all-in-one sensor models offer particularly easy installation/deployment and the weather stations come fully configured and ready to use (plug and play). US DHS SAVER report on Portable Weather Stations commended CWS for detailed user manual 'easy to use and provided clear instructions' and the Weather Display Console 'offering many easy-to-use display options.'

Installation configurations include fixed-base, portable and vehicle-mount weather stations. CWS portable and vehicle-mount systems were developed by a former Air Force meteorologist specifically for the public safety market ease of use in critical conditions.

Columbia Weather Systems manufactures weather stations in the United States for use by government agencies and industries around the world.
