A new method using a water proof meter with built in photo cell and reagent delivery device (test strips) was presented at the 5th Annual World Aquatic Health™ Conference in Colorado Springs October 17th.
Ivars Jaunakais, President of Industrial Test Systems, Inc. (ITS), presented a new method for pool water testing last week during the annual World Aquatic Health Conference. The eXact Micro 7+ photometer is designed to quickly and accurately determine water chemistry. The Micro 7+ reads directly: Total Alkalinity; Bromine; Calcium Hardness; Free Chlorine; Total Chlorine; Copper; Ozone; pH and Transmission. Additionally, in transmission the meter tests for: Ammonia; Chloride; Chlorine Dioxide; Cyanuric Acid; Iron; Low Range Total Hardness; Manganese; Nitrate; Nitrite and Turbidity.
The eXact Micro 7+ is EPA-compliant for Free and Total Chlorine regulatory testing. The presentation gave data that supported the accuracy of the test strip reagent delivery device (eXact Strip Micro DPD-1), against the HACH DR 890 powder pillow system with a correlation coefficient of 0.9998. The meter provides fast results (uses 20 second test method) at 0.01 resolution. The Micro 7+ is ideal for compliance testing of pool & spa water because there is no cell or test tube to handle. The meter uses a safe, quick, accurate and easy to use stable delivery device in a non-technical procedure.

About the World Aquatic Health Conference:
This annual conference presented by the NSPF (National Swimming Pool Foundation) works to build healthier lives through aquatics. The conference is designed for professionals who operate, service, manage, regulate, inspect, research, consult at, reduce risk at, promote attendance at, design programs for, train personnel at, sell products to, and/or manufacture components used at water parks, aquatic facilities, pools, spas, and therapy pools. Conference attendees hear from world-leading scientists and experts that present science that creates opportunity. This global exchange of knowledge provides a forum to keep abreast of the latest science that helps reduce risk, improve aquatic programs, attract more people to water, and increase profitability.
