New press team at Koelnmesse to look after CARBON EXPO

A few days ago CARBON EXPO was placed in the care of a new press officer in Koelnmesse.  In this mail I would like to introduce myself to you: My name is Franko Fischer, I am 32 years old, and a trained journalist and qualified
sports scientist for media and communications. CARBON EXPO 2008 will take place from the 7th to the 9th May in Cologne. The fifth edition of the largest conference and trade fair in the world for emissions trading will bring together around 2600 participants from the
market in climate protection from over 100 countries at the fair location in Cologne at the beginning of this second phase in European emissions trading and at the beginning of the first phase of the Kyoto Protocol. CARBON EXPO
2008 gives emissions trading, and the emitters, project developers, technology suppliers, financial service providers, legal offices and advisors involved therein, momentum and points the direction that should be taken. The conference programme also guarantees to make you better informed in the competitive worldwide market by explaining and taking up all facets and questions that move market participants. In the conference, which will take place in parallel with the fair, leading international experts and government representatives will give an overview of the newest developments
and projects in emissions trading, and will controversially discuss their experiences in the CO2 market up to this point. The Emission Trading Scheme (ETS), Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) and Joint Implementation (JI) will
be the focus points.

Conference programme: In the industries’ common dialogue, the following themes are among those currently – these are subject to change - on the agenda:

- The current situation of worldwide emissions trading: numbers, data, facts
- New markets in the USA and Australia: developments and opportunities to
get on board
- Forum of developing countries: technologies and trends

CARBON EXPO is the largest event for the rapidly growing market in CO2 that is not organised by the United Nations. 222 exhibitors (2006: 187 exhibitors) from 66 countries presented their products and services on the
subject of emissions trading at CARBON EXPO this year in Cologne. 2,419 participants (2006: 2,050) from 106 countries (2006: 87 countries) came to the trading and congress fair in Cologne.
