The new Private Water Supplies Regulations, which came into force on January 1 last year, brings increased regulation and scrutiny to private water supplies. Importantly they restrict the products or substances that can be used where water is abstracted for human consumption.

The new regulations require that only products or substances that would be permitted under Regulation 31 of the Water Supply (Water Quality) Regulations 2000 can be used: those, with certain limited exceptions, that have been approved by the Secretary of State.

Aquabiotics’ Boresaver Ultra C, Boresaver IKL Pro and Boresaver Liquid all have Secretary of State approval and can be safely used in any borehole or well contaminated with iron oxide, manganese oxide, iron related bacteria or calcium carbonate.
