New Uv Water Disinfection System For Small Flow Industrial Applications
The 300 Series UV water disinfection system from Hanovia has been developed for small-flow industrial process water applications (up to 65 m3/h) in the food, beverage, brewing, chemical and pharmaceutical industries. The system uses amalgam* low pressure UV lamps, also known as HOLP (high output low pressure) lamps.
An extension of the well-established 200 Series, the 300 Series offers increased treatment capacity due to higher efficiency lamps and a longer treatment chamber, which increases the contact time.
The control panel and treatment chamber are pre-wired and mounted on a frame, creating a single, compact unit which is easy to integrate within existing pipework with minimal disruption to the plant.
By permanently killing bacteria, viruses and moulds, UV ensures process water is free from spoilage or potentially pathogenic microorganisms. It is a completely clean technology which leaves no taint and has no effect on the taste, colour or odour of the product. It can be used as the main disinfection system, as a back-up to alternative methods, or in specific clean-room environments where high standards of sterility must be maintained.
Hanovia has over 80 years' experience in the manufacture, application and development of UV technology for non-chemical disinfection and microbiological control. For more information please visit the company's website.
* A low pressure UV lamp containing a mixture, or 'amalgam', of mercury and another metal (e.g., indium or gallium). This allows the lamps to operate at a higher current – with a correspondingly higher UV output – than conventional low pressure lamps.
