New ZX350LC-6 excavators work to tackle tight timeline
Consolidated Construction Services Inc. (CCS), an underground utilities company serving the Baltimore metro area, added two new ZX350LC-6 excavators to its fleet earlier this year.
The two new excavators are busy working on a residential development project for Elm Street Development, one of the largest privately-owned developers in the region. The first phase of the project consists of 80 acres that will have 250 homes.
CCS is installing seven miles of water, sewer and storm drainage pipe for the development. The company is making cuts as deep as 25 feet, and its army of 12 Hitachi excavators on site is helping make it happen.
With CCS’s portion of the project near completion, Steve James, company founder and president, is confident that his team and equipment will meet its tight timeline of four months.
“We’re working on a strict timeline, and Hitachi excavators are very dependable,” James said. “I also have great foremen and employees on site.”
James has used Hitachi equipment since he started the company in 1986. His fleet now ranges from a ZX330LC (with about 10,000 hours) up to a ZX470LC-5. The new ZX350LC-6 excavators are a productive addition to the line-up.
“We bought the new 350 excavators to support the volume of work we have,” James said. “We’re pleased with the machines' performance.”
Consolidated Construction Services Inc. is serviced by Elliott & Frantz, Jessup, Md.
