According to Karen Allan, general manager of Granite Environmental, LLC, “In the oil spill catastrophe in the Gulf of Mexico, a huge amount of hard oil booms are needed to contain the oil and prevent that the oil spill area increases. But when the oil spill is getting closer to the shore and sandy beaches, oil absorbent booms are the perfect equipment for passive oil spill cleanup. This sorbent boom can be rapidly deployed by minimizing pollution and reducing the size of a spill.”
