Pace Analytical Services, Inc. is pleased to announce that it has purchased the assets of Northeast Analytical, Inc., located in Schenectady, NY.
NEA is an environmental testing laboratory originally specializing in high resolution PCB analysis. For the past two decades, NEA has built a distinguished national reputation for uncompromising data quality, service and technical expertise in dealing with low level detection limit for sediments, waters and biota (fish) matrices. They have been one of only a few laboratories that can provide this level of expertise in the area of PCB congener analysis.
NEA, which was founded in 1988, provides a broad scope of services including metals, inorganics, volatile organic compounds and semi-volatiles. NEA has completed a wide range of high profile projects on behalf of Fortune 500 companies, commercial and industrial companies, and government agencies.
The new Pace New York lab will provide enhanced specialty service offerings through the Pace laboratory network. NEA’s clients will now have access to a much broader capability to support their environmental testing needs including: the analysis of air samples, biological tissue, radiological, dioxin/furan and dioxin-like compounds. Pace plans to make significant capital investments in equipment, infrastructure and IT at the NEA lab and will also begin offering 24/7 on-line data availability through PacePort in the near future.
Steve Vanderboom, CEO of Pace Analytical, commented: 'This expansion of our service offerings and our position in the Northeastern US market is a very positive addition to Pace. Our presence in NY will enable Pace to better serve our corporate accounts as well as the local market.” The acquisition was finalized at the end of October and began operating as Pace on November 1, 2010.
