PERKINELMER ADDS CHINESE-LANGUAGE INTERFACE TO GAS CHROMATOGRAPHY INSTRUMENTS: Simplifies Operation from Sample Handling through Data Analysis
SHELTON, Conn. -- PerkinElmer, Inc. (NYSE: PKI), a leading provider of drug discovery, life science research and analytical solutions, today announced that its Clarus® gas chromatograph (GC) and TurboMatrixTM headspace and thermal desorption systems are now available with a Chinese-language touch-screen interface. For labs in China and other regions staffed by native speakers of Chinese, the new interface combines Chinese-language menus and intuitive icon-driven sample handling operations, providing ease-of-use and enhancing productivity.
Chinese is the eighth native-language interface to be added to the Clarus and TurboMatrix product lines. Other supported languages include English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Russian and Japanese. The design of the PerkinElmer instrument interface and supporting software and firmware are uniquely suited to rapid development of additional local language interfaces.
"PerkinElmer is committed to further simplifying the operation of our instruments and the addition of a Chinese-language interface is important for our customers," said Jonathan Rennert, vice president and general manager, Environmental and Chemical business at PerkinElmer, Inc. "Extending local-language support across both sample handling and instrument operation will allow users to concentrate on what matters most-results."
Dr. Lin Li, Asian business development manager, Environmental and Chemical business at PerkinElmer, Inc., added, "China is growing quickly and labs are expanding to meet the needs of industry and government. Our addition of Chinese-language support will speed adoption of our integrated GC solutions throughout China and other countries that employ Chinese scientists and technicians."
PerkinElmer Clarus gas chromatographs and other analytical instruments are widely used in the chemical, food and beverage, materials and petrochemical industries for new product development, quality control and environmental monitoring. The recently introduced TurboMatrix headspace sampling system with optional trap offers up to 100 times lower detection limits for gas chromatography-a significantly higher level of performance compared with conventional sampling systems-while ensuring high accuracy, simplified sample preparation and enhanced throughput.
Clarus and TurboMatrix systems with the new Chinese-language interface are available immediately. Continuing its fifty-year tradition of GC innovation, PerkinElmer is the only supplier that manufactures and sells a complete single-vendor solution - from sample handling to data handling.
