SAN CLEMENTE, CALIF -- REGENESIS®, a global leader in advanced environmental remediation technologies, is pleased to report that after the 2014 commercial launch of its groundbreaking product, PlumeStop® Liquid Activated Carbon™ (LAC), response to the first-of-its-kind product has been met with resounding success and great promise for the future of environmental remediation. Developed to stop migrating groundwater contaminant plumes and designed to meet stringent groundwater standards at contaminated sites, the eco-friendly substrate quickly and effectively reduces harmful chemicals and toxins, while enhancing or accelerating microbial-driven biodegradation processes. Proven effective on a wide range of contaminants, PlumeStop is being applied by engineering and environmental consulting firms across the U.S. and Europe to protect human health from groundwater contaminants and to prevent contaminant migration across property boundaries.

From reducing chlorinated solvents at industrial dry cleaning sites to petroleum clean-up projects, PlumeStop is gaining accolades for its remarkable outcomes by both industry experts and clients who have come to rely on REGENESIS for its world-class remediation products and services.

“As a company that strives to eliminate environmental risks and liabilities economically and expediently, we relied on PlumeStop from REGENESIS to reduce high contamination levels at a challenging remediation site,” says Matthew Otto, division manager for Apex Companies, LLC, a leading energy, water resources and environmental consulting and engineering firm. “PlumeStop not only provided exceptional results but also enabled us to reach target levels in a fraction of the time it would have taken with any other remedial solutions.”

PlumeStop is composed of very fine particles of activated carbon (1-2μm) suspended in water through the use of unique organic polymer dispersion chemistry. Once in the subsurface, the material behaves as a colloidal biomatrix binding to the aquifer matrix, rapidly removing contaminants from groundwater and expediting permanent contaminant biodegradation.

“There has never been anything like PlumeStop’s technology,” says REGENESIS president and CEO Scott Wilson. “Field results have been beyond everyone’s expectations including regulatory agencies. Contaminated groundwater sites treated with PlumeStop are being cleaned up to regulatory standards in three to six months’ time rather than years.”
