Promecon Process Measurement Control GmbH

Promecon installed in more than 60 cement plants worldwide

With the latest orders of the McON air gas flow measurement to measure the kiln off gas amount at the downcomer duct or outlet gas volume of vertical roller mills the total amount of installed systems reached a number of 100 all over the world. The benefits achieved in plants of leading cement manufacturers now satisfy private oprerated cement plants as well. PZW Wittekind in Germany, Cementos Progreso in Guatemala and Asia Cement in South Korea are representative examples for innovative investments on process optimization.

The maintenance, drift and calibration free measurement of gas flow velocity or gas volume with dust loads up to 20kg/m³ and gas temperatures of up to 1000°C is now installed in 60 cement plants in the world. It can be installed directly on the raw gas ducts of the downcomer or just after the seperator of raw/cement mill. The system was specially developed by PROMECON, Germany to measure the heavily dust laden outlet gas of raw and cement VRMs. As a result of the highly precise signal the transported air in the VRM can be adjusted more exactly and power consumption can be reduced by up to 1 kWh per ton of grinding material.
