We have had a wonderful time at the 9th IWA International Conference on Water Reuse, held in Windhoek last October 27 to 31. We have learnt much from the 27 technical sessions and 7 workshops, with themes ranging from economics and governance to the water-energy nexus, industrial and mining water reuse, emerging pollutants and technological advances, just to cite a few. No less than 14 keynote speeches were given by eminent specialists in the domain and we elected a new chairperson. After all the hard work, we were delighted with some authentic Namibian hospitality, through a whole range of arts and cultural performances, food and beer (a lot of beer), a series of events which culminated at one of the most memorable gala dinners that we have had the chance to attend. We would like to once again congratulate the organizing committee for a job well done.
Just as the curtain drops on the 2013 WRSG conference, we now begin planning the 2015 WRSG conference and we want YOU to get involved! For this occasion, an email ballot will be sent to all active members before the end of the year. We have received two outstanding applications, one from the city of Harbin, PR China and the other from the city of São Paulo, Brazil, and if you missed the presentations that the candidate cities gave us in Windhoek, you now have a chance to check them out here via the links below.
So enjoy the presentations and we will update you real soon on the details of the voting procedure.
