Pyrolysis Plants: A Solution to Plastic, Rubber, and Oil Sludge Waste
Suitable raw materials for pyrolysis plant to recycle waste
The world is facing a major environmental problem with the increasing amount of plastic, rubber, and oil sludge waste. These wastes are difficult to dispose of and poses a risk to the environment. However, pyrolysis plants offer a solution to this problem by converting these wastes into valuable products such as fuel oil, carbon black, and gas.
1. Waste Plastic
Plastic waste is a major environmental problem worldwide. The commonly waste plastics include Pure PP/PE/PS plastics, pure ABS plastics, pure white plastic sheets, food packaging bag, paper-mill waste, plastic household garbage and aluminum plastic, etc., whose oil content is between 50%~95%, however, PVC and PET are not suitable for pyrolysis plants. These wastes take hundreds of years to decompose and pose a risk to the environment. However, pyrolysis plants can process plastic waste and convert it into valuable products. The pyrolysis process breaks down the plastic waste into smaller molecules, which can be further refined into useful products.
2. Waste Rubber
Waste rubber is another major environmental problem. Waste rubber can be in the form of rubber powder, big car/truck tires, small car/motorcycle and bicycle tires, conveyor belts, rubber soles and other rubber products. General rubber's oil content is between 35%~52%. Apart from fuel oil and carbon black, we can also obtain steel wires from waste tires, which can be sold directly.
3. Oil Sludge
Oil sludge is a hazardous waste that is difficult to dispose of, which is a mixture of oil, water, and solids that is generated during the oil refining process. Oil sludge takes up valuable landfill space and poses a risk to the environment. The category mainly contains oil sludge, oil sands, coal tar oil residue, drilling muds and so on, whose oil content is between 20%~70%.
From above these materials, we can obtain fuel oil, carbon black and combustible gas. In terms of fuel oil, it can be used in steel factories, boiler heating, heavy oil generator cement factories or be refined to diesel. Carbon black can be used for burning due to its higher calorific value or be refined to make new tires, shoe soles and paints. Combustible gas can be used to heat the reactor directly to save energy or other heating uses.
In summary, pyrolysis plants offer several benefits for us. Firstly, they help to reduce the amount of waste that goes to landfills, which helps to conserve valuable landfill space. Secondly, they help to reduce the amount of waste that is burned, which helps to reduce air pollution. Thirdly, they help to reduce the amount of fossil fuels that are used, which helps to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Finally, they help to create valuable products from waste, which helps to conserve natural resources.
