The steady economic growth and large investments in construction projects has opened up new opportunities for the recycling industry in Poland.
Inquiries to Eldan Recycling show that an increasing number of companies want a piece of the valuable recycling cake. “The past 5 years we have noticed a steady increase in requests from Poland” says Toni Reftman Managing Director at Eldan Recycling. “Within cable recycling we have noticed an increase in both quotes and orders for small and medium capacity systems, as well as for solutions for further recovery of fine copper from insulation. Also within tyre recycling we notice a trend in further improving the end-product. A further cleaned steel fraction with a density of up to 0.7 is very desirable with European steel works.”
Local representative for Eldan in Poland Tomasz Kajzer at Rub-Met agrees with Reftman. “The recycling industry in Poland has for a long while consisted of a few key players – mainly within large capacity tyre recycling and cable/electronics recycling. Now we are contacted by investors looking for equipment in the mentioned areas as well as more niched ones like production of RDF [Residual Derived Fuel] and aluminium scrap processing. Processing of OTR tyres seems also to generate bigger interest than in the past years. So far sales have been really good this year. On top of that we still have a few projects which we expect to be finalized before the end of the year. The recycling industry in Poland is certainly blooming!”
