Sheffield School Increases Safety Measures with New Temperature Measurement System
An independent school in Sheffield, UK, is helping protect its students and staff from the spread of infection, including COVID-19, with the latest technology in temperature measurement.
Westbourne School, which teaches children from the ages of three to 16, has installed the VIRALERT 3, a non-contact human body temperature measurement system.
With a high temperature being one of the main symptoms of COVID-19, stopping anyone who is displaying a potential fever from entering the school is an effective way of stopping the spread of infection.
VIRALERT 3 operates remotely, scanning for an elevated temperature and providing accurate results in less the two seconds. It is designed to screen visitors without slowing the flow of people, scanning temperatures without any person-to-person contact, keeping all parties safe from disease transmission.
School Headmaster, John Hicks, commented: “With social distancing often difficult to enforce among young people, this system is an important tool in reducing the risk of infection entering our facilities. It is really easy to set up and use, and our staff and pupils now use it as part of our safety and hygiene routine.”
