Source: Koelnmesse GmbH

A new report from the World Bank and the International Emissions Trading Association (IETA) highlighting the trends of the global market for carbon emissions trading will be released during CARBON EXPO in Cologne, Germany, on May 10th. Carbon Expo is the largest carbon fair in the world, with more than 2000 representatives from governments, business, and civil society organizations involved in greenhouse gas emission transactions around the world.

The report highlights some new trends in the growing market. Carbon finance provides an opportunity for industrialized country companies and governments to meet their greenhouse gas emission reductions commitments through emissions trading, or in exchange for investments that reduce greenhouse gas emissions in transition economies and developing countries.

Press are invited to join Warren Evans, World Bank Director of Environment, Andrei Marcu, President and CEO of the International Emissions Trading Association (IETA), Karan Capoor, World Bank Senior Carbon Finance Specialist and co-author of the report, Garth Edwards, Trading Manager, Environmental Products, Shell International, Peter Kreuzberg, Managing Director, RWE trading, as well as representatives of carbon broker Natsource, LLC, and greenhouse gas market analyst and broker Evolution Markets LLC, as they launch the sixth annual State of the Carbon Market 2006 report at Carbon Expo in Cologne, Germany.
