Still soggy on site despite the sunshine

Water levels across the country are high after all the rain and this may be having an impact on leachate levels on landfill sites, too, which could be making it harder to keep to the required levels. Many people consider pumps challenging because of the harsh operating conditions and the potential difficulties with installing or maintaining them, but now with the Environment Agency looking for clear 5-year action plans in some places, pumps may become a requirement in order to remain in compliance with PPC permits.

Geotech have been supplying pneumatically operated positive air displacement pumps for landfill leachate, condensate and groundwater for over 20 years. Its current models, the USA-manufactured 'AutoPump' range, are supplied worldwide with several thousand sold each year into a variety of applications, most notably landfill and the petrochemical industry. They have been specifically designed to handle severe pumping on landfill, groundwater and remediation sites, and many refinements and options have been added over the years to enhance the AutoPump's long-term reliability and performance.

The pumps are ATEX certified (zone 0) and can be installed in boreholes as small as 50mm, with pumping depths to 90m. A choice of short or long bodies are available as well as an option of top or bottom fill, with totally automatic positive air displacement . All pumps are available from stock with, costs starting from around £1000.00 depending on your specific needs. Installation is easy and on-site support and training can be provided by experienced Geotech staff if required.

Geotech are here to help for ongoing pump support, but we also have a number of links with installers and contractors. Most recently, we have developed a new partnership with enitial to provide Geotech customers with pump servicing, installation and maintenance. Having been in the industry for many years, enitial are now fully trained to the AutoPump manufacturer's recommendations, and are able to offer a variety of other services which may be of interest to you.
