Dubai, UAE -- The UAE Civil Defense, in a joint effort with Gulf co-operation, is analyzing possible fire hazards and through commercial & residential national level campaigns are training people and monitoring them with great success to achieve the goals of a fire safe environment.

Barely entering the second quarter of 2013, several unfortunate fire accidents have already made the news. Fire continues to demonstrate to be one of mankind's nemesis, however we still seem to be taking the issue lightly. In a recent survey by Honeywell, almost one in three GCC residents ignore fire alarms and were unaware of fire exits. The survey also found that almost half of those polled had either not been part of a fire drill or were unaware of the need to test fire safety equipment.

The question then one needs to ask  is 'Are zero accidents a realistic goal?'. What is important with any target are the analysis, planning, training and monitoring which makes sure a chance of actually achieving the goal. The UAE Civil Defense, in a joint effort with Gulf co-operation, is analyzing possible fire hazards and through commercial & residential national level campaigns are training people and monitoring them with great success.

To achieve the goals of a fire safe environment, the UAE Directorate General of Civil Defense join hands with Fleming Gulf again to organize the fourth annual edition of Middle East Firesafe. This summit is staged to discuss the best practices in the fire safety industry worldwide and Civil Defense authorities. The idea is to share these case studies with the Middle East industry, service providers, consultants, decision makers and government officials to help them frame policies, select and implement the same.
