In the last years, the increasing attention to the environment themes with a specific attention to the pollution, to the legal responsibilities of it and to the effects on the human health has created the condition for the development of a new discipline: the “Environmental Forensics”.
The environmental investigation is a very peculiar frontier among the forensic disciplines especially because of the complexity of environmental pollution cases that requires a multidisciplinary approach and high-specialized experts such as environmental scientists, engineers and legal specialists. In the very common cases where the responsible of the contamination has to be ascertained and landfills as well as other possible sources are present, a simplistic approach is likely to lead to wrong conclusions.
The section aims to identify the new emerging challenges of the discipline and to present the most advanced researches, theories and case studies on this topic creating a network of high profile specialists with a strong scientific multidisciplinary approach.
