The Comet Assay: Nutrition & Health

Last year we highlighted research linking nutritional factors, mutagenicity and carcinogenesis. One invaluable tool for investigations into DNA damage, protection and repair is the Comet Assay (Single Cell Gel Electrophoresis).

The growing popularity & acceptance of the assay is evident by the number of peer reviewed papers in the scientific literature. Here we list a selection of recent papers with nutrition & health a key theme and all using data obtained with Perceptive Instruments’ Comet Assay software to quantify DNA damage.
