Casella Monitor, manufacturer of Ambient Air Quality gas analyzers and systems for the natural environment, has successfully completed the first phase of a new Turkish Government air quality monitoring network by installing 25 air conditioned stations (Enclosures) in the most polluted cities in Turkey for the Ministry of Environment and Forests.
The Air Quality systems use the latest data retrieval and data management software package, Enview 2000, which collects and transmits data continously from each air monitoring site to all 25 cities, as well as the central station in Ankara. The data is also posted to a dedicated Website.
Initially, Particulate (PM10) and Sulphur Dioxide (SO2) parameters will be continously measured from the air conditioned monitoring stations with additional gas parameters to be added at a later date.
The first phase of the new Turkish Government network is expected to extend to 81 cities throughout Turkey by the end of 2005.

As part of the European green deal, the European Commission is committed to aligning the air quality standards of the European Union with the WHO recommendations. These were revised in September 2021 by dividing by two the annual guide values for fine particles (5µg/m3) and by four that for nitrogen dioxide (NO2).
The proposed revision of the Ambient Air Quality Directives will set interim 2030 EU air quality standards, aligned more closely with World Health Organization guidelines (WHO guidelines for...
In 2021, to achieve the goal of carbon peaking by 2030 and carbon neutrality by 2060, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment has issued the Guidance on Coordinating and Strengthening the Work Related to Climate Change Response and Ecological Environmental Protection and the Carbon Monitoring and Assessment Pilot Work Program.
