Union Station to Celebrate Earth Day
D.C. Landmark Hosts Series of Events and Performances as Culmination of Earth Month 2013

WHAT:
Concurrent with its ongoing Earth Month 2013 celebration, Union Station in Washington D.C., one of the nation’s premier, historic transportation hubs and a must-see destination for every visitor to Washington, and its Sustainability Partner, Earth Day Network, will host an expanded slate of activities to celebrate Earth Day 2013. The celebration will feature a farmers market, raffles and giveaways, and performances by The Volunteers of the US Army Field Band. In addition, Union Station is also hosting unique sculptures from artists George Sabra and Tom Tsuchiya.

7:00 a.m. Farmers Market opens (West Carriage Porch) 10:00 a.m. Earth Fair opens (East Hall) NASA Dome Exhibit opens (Main Hall) 11:00 a.m. Verizon “Recycle, Repurpose, Reward” Day at Union Station – Main Hall, West Hall, Trade in and recycle your cell phone and receive a $50 gift card for Verizon Wireless.
