USGS announces new funding opportunities for Ground-Water Monitoring Network
The U.S. Geological Survey National Ground-Water Monitoring Network Cooperative Funding Opportunity for 2018 to support the network is currently open. The funding will be for a two-year period in 2018-2019. State and local water agencies are encouraged to apply.
Funding will support new and existing data providers engaged in a range of activities that include site classification, web services, well maintenance, and well drilling.
Data providers can submit applications for up to $150,000 in funds per year. The application period closes December 30, 2017.
USGS will be conducting a webinar at 1 p.m. ET on October 19 that will provide more information about the program and how to apply. Registration for the webinar is required.
Continuing to grow the National Ground-Water Monitoring Network will help build a national picture of groundwater levels and groundwater quality. In addition, business opportunities for NGWA members could result from state or local agencies looking for well drilling services.
