Borescopes are optical devices that have a flexible or rigid tube with an objective lens at one side connected by a relay optical system to an eyepiece or video screen. They have a long tradition as a useful tool for building and IAQ investigations. As technologies have improved the instruments have dramatically increased in quality and capabilities.

EMSL Analytical, a major product supplier and environmental laboratory, recently announced the availability of Extech Instruments’ new BR200 Video Borescope. This cutting edge borescope brings more features to the market than any other in its price range. The BR200 features a 17mm camera diameter and a 3.5” full color LCD wireless monitor.

“The BR200 borescope has been a huge hit with the home inspecting, HVAC, electrical, mold and indoor air quality industries,” reported Jody Thomason, Director of Products Division for EMSL Analytical. “We are pleased to be offering this state-of-the-art tool at the most competitive pricing and as with all instruments purchased from EMSL, we stand behind the product,” Thomason continued.

Additional features found in the BR200 include digital memory for capturing images or video on a compact SD card, 39” flexible gooseneck with a waterproof camera and 2 built-in LED lights. The detachable wireless monitor can even view images from as far as 32 feet from the measurement point. The units come complete with batteries, memory card, SD adaptor, USB cable, extension tools, video cable, AC adaptor, magnetic base stand and handy storage case. Gooseneck extensions are also available.

The units are available from EMSL Analytical for less than $300, but supplies have been moving fast and availability may be limited in the future if sales continue at current rates.
