WaBack installed to prevent flooding in apartment buildings
Source: WaStop International AB
In Enskede, a suburb in Sweden, a residential building with about 70 apartments have been built. The building will be linked to the municipality’s combined sewer system and because of the risk of overload, the risk of back flow also increases.
To give these residents peace of mind even before an unpleasant event occurs, it was decided to install a DN200-600 WaBack non-return valve. Sewer water is often heavily polluted and can cause simple check valves to fail. WaBack is designed to cope with heavily polluted water by having its entire flow area open for flow. This minimizes the risk for blockages and requires only minimal maintenance in the form of a visual inspection, and the occasional rinse.
WaBack has been installed for flooding problems since 1988 and is a proven solution. The chamber functions, as both a check valve and inspection chamber, is easily installed on the outlet pipe between the house and the main sewer line. Once installed WaBack provides peace of mind and 100% backflow protection.
