Water Technology unveils new industrial focus at WEFTEC
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Water Technology magazine unveiled its new look and industrial water focus at the Water Environment Technical Exhibition and Conference (WEFTEC) on Sept. 24.
After more than 38 years in the industry with a focus on residential and light industrial, Water Technology will relaunch in January 2017 as a bimonthly publication focused on industrial water management.
“Our new editorial focus and extensive coverage will provide unique perspectives on all things industrial water,” said Editor in Chief Lori Ditoro. “Topics from source water treatment before use in processes to wastewater treatment, recycling, reuse and everything in between will be included.”
“The design of the new Water Technology builds on its reputation as an expert in technical water topics to reposition itself as a leader in the industrial space,” commented Art Director Ryan Carlson, who created the redesign concept. Carlson recently won an award for his redesign of sister publication Processing.
Water Technology is one of three magazines that makes up the Process Flow Network. Flow Control and Processing magazines complete the group.
“We are reinventing Water Technology as an integrated media brand dedicated to solutions for industrial water management,” Publisher Mike Christian said. “Given our 30-year experience with Processing and Flow Control, we are uniquely positioned to make Water Technology the leading media brand within the industrial water sector.”
Dr. Joseph Cotruvo, who continues as technical editor for the publication, will contribute “Regs & Tech,” a column that features regulations that affect water and wastewater treatment professionals and the technology used to manage all water in an industrial environment. Also joining the editorial team with a column is Dan Theobald who will provide “Wastewater Wise,” a column with tips and best practices for handling and treating industrial wastewater.
The editorial team also adds industrial expertise to its editorial advisory board, including:
- Snehal Desai, Global Business Director, Dow Water & Process Solutions
- Ralph Exton, Chief Marketing Officer, GE Water & Process Technologies
- Wes Lobo, Global Business Unit Director, Industry and Agriculture, Xylem Inc.
