Today, beverage canning facilities can produce 2,500 cans or more per minute on one production line. In the United States there are more than 200 can manufacturing plants. The canning process produces waste oil when seamer machines lose oil that is used for lubrication. This oil becomes mixed with wash water or wastewater and must be removed prior to discharge.
