Russia, Moscow Sep. 23, 2010 - Sep. 24, 2010 | The Carbon Market in Russia & Ukraine

In addition to the treaty, many countries ratified the Kyoto Protocol which established a global carbon market that incorporates very powerful financial mechanisms. A recent study found that the temperature increase is inevitable but cutting greenhouse gases by 70% could avoid dangerous aspects of climate change and would allow the climate to stabilize. However, it is still arguable whether the Kyoto protocol indeed fights global warming and if the carbon market is a key tool for reducing emissions or if it is just another “Wall Street gambit”? |
