Process Safety Fundamentals - Do You Know What You Need To Know?
Fires, explosions, runaway reactions and toxic releases are the major hazards. Still, they happen far too often. Do we understand, design and operate our processes well enough? In this seminar, you will learn the fundamentals of fire and explosion, dispersion models, toxicity, and reactivity, ignition prevention, overpressure and explosion venting. We will also touch upon inherently safe design. This knowledge is a must for every chemical engineer involved in R&D, design, operation and maintenance of chemical plants. However, the amount of courses on these subjects in M.Sc. curricula is limited. This is a chance to update your knowledge! A common example will be used in the workshops. After this seminar, you will be able to evaluate the major hazards and manage them better.
