Environmental Sampling & Data Quality - October 2-3, 2013
Understanding and improving sampling methods and the planning approach to sampling provides one of the best opportunities to improve sampling and analytical results. Every site is different, and the dynamic process of sample collection and analysis poses greater risk of error than laboratory results. Proper planning and use of statistics throughout the process can result in more accurate results and prevent wasted time and money. The Environmental Sampling and Data Quality™ course is designed for those responsible for developing sampling plans, evaluating sampling results, assuring data quality, or performing field sampling. You will learn to select an appropriate sampling method and gain an understanding of the associated variables and common mistakes, develop a scientifically and legally defensible sampling plan, and apply practical statistics throughout the planning and analysis process.

Metrohm Environmental Analysis Symposium
Metrohm is pleased to invite you to the 1st Metrohm Environmental Analysis Symposium. Join us in this 3-day event and catch up with the latest analytical methods during presentations and practical demonstrations. Discuss challenges in environmental analysis with experts and colleagues from all over the world and enjoy three days of inspiring learning in the beautiful Appenzellerland. Topics of practical demonstrations in the preliminary program include (selection): - Permangante index/chemical oxygen demand (COD) in drinking water or surface water - Standard parameters in water such as pH value, conductivity, anions, cations via titration, and ion chromatography - Heavy metals, trace elements in water, soil or air by voltammetry and ion chromatography -Chromium(VI) in water, soil and air - Online and atline process analysis (e.g. pH-value, conductivity, ions) Guest speakers include specialists from environmental laboratories, authorities and standards organizations.
