Anaerobic Digestion (AD) plant treating organic solid waste has been operating for more than three years. Cassington AD Facility processes approx. 160 t of separated waste per day. Food from supermarkets, restaurants, breweries and dairies is mixed with the household food waste in a closed reception tank in order to contain the odors. The plant is able to separate plastics and package material automatically. The plant has an electrical output of 2.1 MW.
