EU Regulation (EU No .: 142/2011) requires pasteurisation (sanitation) of biowastes in biogas and sludge treatment plants, holding them at 70 ° C for one hour. Instead of commonly used batch processes (typically with a large energy consumption) or three-tank systems (with high investment costs) EnvironTec has developed an innovative, award-winning continuous process where the heated material is pumped through a tubular reactor and then passed through a heat exchanger for heat recovery by the incoming raw material.
