The OTT WAD 200, a weighing technology combined with a self-emptying collecting system, was developed in addition to the OTT Pluvio² series and is specially designed for the use in subtropical and tropical climates. The new precipitation gauge’s unique measurement principle fulfils the WMO guideline requirements. It issues the measured values on cumulative and precipitation intensity in real time and also in severe weather conditions including hurricanes and typhoons in the impressive range of 0.001 to 720 mm/h. The calibration is performed by means of an ISO standard reference calibration weight instead of the water volume to detect only a low intensity value.
