Internal and external audits can reveal non-conformances. A single non-conformance isn’t necessarily a bad thing as long as it gets corrected. A pattern of repeating non-conformances or a large number of non-conformances, however, is a sign of weaknesses in the management of the organization and of the quality management system. Without a good non-conformance management system, non-conformances will continue to be identified which can have serious ramifications for an organization such as losing customers.
