Praxair Starts-Up Its First Air Separation Plant in Russia
Praxair Volgograd LLC, a subsidiary of Praxair, Inc. (NYSE: PX), has announced the start-up of its first large-scale air separation plant in Volgograd, an industrial region in southern Russia. This plant will produce oxygen, nitrogen and compressed air for Kaustik, a division of the Nikochem Group, under a long-term contract. The highly-efficient plant has a capacity of 350 tons per day and will reduce Kaustik’s electricity consumption at the site by approximately 30 percent. Australia – Major LCA study helps dairy farmers aim for GHG emissions reduction
Dairy Australia worked closely with the Australian dairy industry to measure the carbon footprint of producing a number of dairy foods. This initiative was one of the first carbon footprinting projects to report the emissions of dairy farming on a country level and following the International Dairy Federation sector specific guidelines “A common carbon footprint approach for dairy” (IDF, 2010).
